"The Vienna Police Department has participated in this drive for several years now, and each year we are amazed by the generosity of our town's residents in supporting this cause," said Ruth Rohr, a police dispatcher who coordinates the police department's Santa's Run participation. "The ability to lift the spirits of children in the hospital, particularly at holiday time, is so rewarding, and their expressions of joy at receiving these unexpected gifts is priceless."
Donations can be made by 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 at the Vienna Police Department (301 Center St. S), Vienna Community Center (120 Cherry St. SE) or Vienna Town Hall during business hours (127 Center St. S). Unwrapped toys, games, books and gifts for children may be donated.
Other donation locations are available in Fairfax County, City of Fairfax and City of Falls Church.
